The Senate is yet to send the approved budget to President Buhari for assent, reports say.

According to Cable News, a source in the presidency said “The president has been handicapped because he does not know what is contained in the details and what adjustments the national assembly must have made to the proposal sent to them.

 “Although he is anxious to sign the document so that implementation of the provisions could start immediately and ease the tension in the economy and polity, he is afraid he may later discover, when the details are sent, that what is contained therein is not implementable. He wants the national assembly to send in the details speedily so that it could be considered for assent.”

Adding that “Ministers want the budgets passed so that they can start the implementation of their programmes.”

The budget was passed after the Senate and the House of Representatives both received the requisite report from the Joint Committee on Appropriation on Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Boko Haram terrorists have abducted 14 women and two girls in Adamawa State.

 

The victims were said to have been kidnapped by the insurgents on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, according to Premium Times and pulse ng.

Two other women were said to have escaped abduction by pretending that they had drowned.

“The two women who are in real state of trauma told us that the suspected Boko Haram insurgents carted away with the women ,” a source said.

“They left the women to their own devices as the gunmen were left unchallenged leading to the abduction of the said women,” the source added.

The incident has been confirmed by the representative of the Michika/ Madagali Federal Constituency, Adamu Kamale.

The latest abduction comes after President Muhammadu Buhari stated that Boko Haram no longer posed a threat to Nigeria.
