"Mummy, shot": Words of toddler who accidentally killed mum while she changed her baby daughter's nappy

Police say Christa Engles was killed in a "horrible, horrible accident" when the three-year-old found a loaded semi-automatic weapon in the house

A tragic young army mother was shot dead by her three-year-old son as she changed her 10-month-old daughter’s nappy.

The toddler is believed to have found a loaded semi-automatic handgun on a table and accidentally fired it at Christa Engles' head as she tended to his baby sister.

No one else was was home at the time.

The 26-year-old U.S. Army Reserve specialist was found by the children's grandmother when she returned home to the bloody scene in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Engles was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but later died.

' husband, a truck driver who was on the road, arrived home yesterday evening after hearing about the shooting and was only able to confirm his wife's death after repeatedly calling the hospital.

Tulsa Police Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker confirmed that it appeared the mother had been shot as she changed the nappy.

“There was a holster on a table right (by) where she would have been changing the diaper,” he said.

KJRH-TV reports that as the youngster was taken to be interviewed by specialist officers he repeatedly said: "Mummy, shot."

Detectives believe the toddler picked up the gun from a low-lying table near the sofa while his mum was distracted.

Brian Engles said yesterday that he was in the process of coordinating funeral arrangements, and while he said he wasn’t yet ready to be interviewed, he allowedTulsa World to publish the contents of his social media posts.

Heartbroken, he wrote on Facebook: “I know you loved me, I worship the ground you walked on.

“I am the luckiest man alive, to have been able to love you. Since the day I met you, you have been the best part of me. I love you Precious Angel.”

Both the Engles children have been turned over to family members, but experts say their healing process has only just begun.

Child specialists interviewed the toddler about the incident Monday night, and Walker said the boy — the only direct witness — “confirmed what the evidence led investigators to assume.”

“Any child who is dealing with that type of trauma is going to have fears at times and anxiety,” Child Abuse Network Managing Director Rose Turner said.

“That can be expressed in depression or extreme anger. They don’t know how to deal with that feeling of loss.”

Regardless of how the boy obtained the weapon, police and family members believe they will always view the case as a “horrible, horrible accident.”

“Don’t forget to tell your loved ones they are loved,” Brian Engles wrote Tuesday. “You really never know when the last ‘I love you’ really is the last.”

Boy aged 13 raped fellow pupil in school after sex education class

A 13-year-old boy raped a girl of the same age following a sex education class - before telling her: "You can go now."

School chiefs are investigating the teaching of sex in lessons after the girl was attacked by her fellow pupil immediately afterwards.

A court heard the boy, who cannot be named, led the girl to a secluded area of the school grounds where he pinned her down despite her protests and raped her.

The teenager admitted once charge of rape.

Dolgellau Youth Court, North Wales, heard the boy asked the 13-year-old girl if she wanted to 'try sex.'

The young girl repeatedly said "No", but the schoolboy held his classmate down and raped her.

The boy, now 15, was put on a 12-month referral order and must sign on the sex offenders list for 30 months.

The assault took place in a state secondary school in the county of Gwynedd.

Education officials said they are working with police and other agencies to find out what lessons can be learned in the teaching of sex education safely in schools.

 Following the default by D KINGS MEDIA LIMITED to pay the debt to our client, and pursuant to the aforementioned personal Guarantee/Memorandum of Undertaking, you issued two post-dated cheques; one for the sum of $240,000,000 (Two Hundred and Forty Thousand United States Dollars Only) dated 20/12/2013, and the other for the sum of N15,000,000,00k (Fifteen Million Naira Only)  dated 20/1/2014. Both cheques were returned unpaid on presentation by our client. ‘We are further informed that although you thereafter paid the sum of N8, 600,00.00K (Eight Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira Only) out of the N15,000,000,00k (Fifteen Million Naira Only) (in) Cheque, leaving a balance sum of N6,400.000.00k (Six Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira Only), you have failed, neglected or refused to redeem the entire or any part of the $240,000.00 (Two Hundred and Forty Thousand United State Dollars) cheque.

’  Further investigations  revealed that Henry Ojogho is not the only wealthy man claiming D’banj owes him in recent times. There are a number of others, according to our sources.

 Zoe Fennessy, 26, has an epileptic seizure within seconds of hearing the Neyo's voice, making her freeze, vomit and unable to react to the world around her.

she always has to wear earphones whenever she goes shopping just in case the Neyo's songs are played in stores.

She has been clinically diagnosed with 'musicogenic seizures' which are triggered by the tone of Ne-Yo's voice.

She was referred to Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital where doctors played her Ne-Yo songs and were amazed when they induced a seizure.

Her doctors notes from the time say: "We recognised a few musicogenic seizures arising from the right temporal lobe stimulated by songs sung by Neyo."

An 18-metre-high giant condom has been erected on an obelisk statue at Hyde Park in Sydney, Australia. The giant condom, in pink colour, was placed on a statue on Friday, November 7, 2014, as part of awareness ahead of the World AIDS day, which is billed for Monday, December 1, 2014.


 According to reports, the giant condom will remain on the obelisk until Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in a campaign being run by New South Wales agency ACON for HIV prevention as part of the safe sex education campaign ‘I’M ON’ that the organisation has been running in the city for the last few weeks.
