Not less than 200 people have been killed when a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck northern Afghanistan, with tremors felt in Pakistan and northern India.
At least 12 of the victims were Afghan schoolgirls killed in a crush as they tried to get out of their building.
In Pakistan, 51 people died while Afghanistan recorded 19 deaths.
The US Geological Survey reported that the quake was centred in the mountainous Hindu Kush region, 75 kilometers south of Faizabad.
Buildings have been evacuated in the capitals of all three countries and communications disrupted in many areas
